Один из осн. показателей экономич. эффект, произ-ва продукции м. хар-ризуёт уд. (на ед. продукции) расход матер, ресурсов (осн. и вспомогат. материалов, топлива, энергии, амортизации осн. фондов) на изготовление продукции. М. может измеряться в стоимост ном и натур, выражении. Показатель м. использ. при анализе произв.-хоз. деятельности металлургич. предприятий, в частности себестоимости продукции при ср. сопоставлении (по ресурсосбережению) уд. затрат на разные виды металлопродукции, в т.ч. по осн. металлургич. переделам (выплавка чугуна, произво стали, проката и т.п.), а тж. при установ лении опт. цен на новую продукцию и др. Рассчит. м. по нормам (нормат. величина Мн) или по факт, данным (факты величина Мф). Пре вышение Мф над Мн — резервы снижения м. Осн. пути сокращения м. — обогащение и комплексное использование сырья, повышение технич. уровня произ-ва (на базе новых техники и технологий), сокращение отходов произ-ва и т.п.
